Funeral services for Mr. James E. Harris, 79, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery in the Old Antioch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Tuesday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 17, 1941, in Smith County, TN, to the late James Whitson Harris and Melissa White Harris. He was married to the late Andrea Laverne Barnes Harris. He was the owner of a fencing business, and attended the Poston Chapel Community Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Daughters: Tammy Sue Harris and Janet Lynn Harris; 1 Sister: Carolyn Faye West; and 1 Brother: Kenneth Harris. Survivors include 1 Son: Jerry Harris of Joelton, TN; 1 Brother: Stanley Harris of Gordonsville, TN; 1 Sister: Janie Sue Mundy of Defeated Creek; 6 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren. Bobby Scantland will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stacy Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
