Funeral services for Mr. James Clay Stafford, 80, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 12, 1938, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Roger Stafford and Betty V. Stafford. He was married to Lois C. Stafford, who survives. He was a furniture factory worker, and also worked in law enforcement. He also served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Johnny Frank Stafford. Survivors include his Wife: Lois C. Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sons: Jimmy (Tammy) Stafford, Johnny F. Stafford, and Roger E. Stafford, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Connie (Dewayne) York of Livingston, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Dustin Hadynski, James Phillip Stafford, Devin Stafford, Bradley Stafford, Johnny "Hoot" Stafford, Chelsea Stafford, and Bryson Harris; 7 Great Grandchildren: Kadence Hadynski, Ellie Hadynski, Rader Eller, Bentley Stafford, Noah Simmons, Rylan Stafford, and Bailey Stafford; and 1 Sister: Ruth Lowe of Gainesboro, TN. Bro. Randy Heady will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home.
