James Carlisle Cothern

James Carlisle Cothern was born October 13, 1964, in Nashville, TN and he passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at his residence in Burristown community of Jackson County at the age of 60.

James was the son of Paul Eugene Cothern and Beulah Mae Covington Cothern.  James married Ms. Linda Renee Anderson on May 2, 1998.  He was employed as a truck driver.

Preceded in death by his parents, grand daughter: Cambree Hope; brother: Donald (Duck) Cothern, and special brother in law: Eddie Eakes.

Survivors include wife: Linda Cothern of Gainesboro; son: Joseph (Stevi) Cothern of Gainesboro;  daughters: Kayla (Larry) Hixson of Cookeville, TN, Scarlett (Steven) Hanson of NC; Melanie (Josh) Allen of Cookeville, TN, Savannah (Marcus Stewart) Cothern of Gainesboro, TN; brothers: Paul Eugene (Vicki) Cothern of Donelson, TN and Howard Cothern of Smyrna, TN; sister: Rena Eakes of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren: Ellis, Kimber, Blakely, Oaklyn, Myla, Mailee, Alex, Arianna, Dontay, Makenzie, Skylar, Abigail, Harrison, and Aniston; sister in laws: Jessica (Marcus) Woolbright and Katie (Justin) Mashburn; mother in law: Jennie Garland of Cookeville, TN.  Several other family members and relatives also survive.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 1 to 7 pm and again on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 8 am to 12 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN.   Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Jeff Hardy and Marcus Woolbright officiating.    The family has chosen cremation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist the family with the cremation expenses by contacting the funeral home.
