James Boyd Birdwell

Funeral services for James Boyd Birdwell, 82, of London, KY, will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Woodall Cemetery on Union Ridge Lane in Bloomington Springs, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Corbin Health and Rehab in Corbin, KY. He was born February 26, 1938, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Odes and Velma Birdwell. He was a private man, and enjoyed cars and trucks. He was a hard worker, working as a builder and carpenter, and was very dedicated to his work. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Son: Randale Birdwell. Survivors include his Children: Freda (Billy) Hammock and Velma (Michael) Hampton; Special Companion: Cathy Stogsdill; 5 Grandchildren: Blake Madewell, Barry Hammock, Noah Hampton, Luke Hampton, and Adam Hampton; 5 Great Grandchildren: Courtney Madewell, Ayla Madewell, Journey Johnson, Brycen Hammock, and Brayden Hammock; 1 Great Great Grandchild: Holden Poston; and Brothers and Sisters: Jasper Sewell (Arlene) Birdwell, Anna Mae (Billy Joe) Loftis, Bessie Lee Robinson, William Fred (Pauline) Birdwell, Donald C. (Marion) Birdwell, Litton B. (Jo Helen) Birdwell, and Richard Earl (Kathy) Birdwell. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
