Jack W. Long

Funeral services for Mr. Jack W. Long, Sr., 71, of Gainesboro, Tennessee will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 and from noon until the service at 2P.M. on Sunday, February 7. Jack lived in the Cubb Creek community of Jackson County and passed away on February 5, 2016 at the Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, Tennessee after an extended illness. He was born on November 15, 1944, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Willie Chester Long and Thelma P. Knight Long. On April 27, 1964, he was married to Wanda L. Hicks Long, who survives. He was retired after 30 years of service with Aeroquip (Eaton) Corporation and was a member of the Wartrace United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James K. Long, Sr., and one sister, Margaret D. Leslie. Survivors include his wife, Wanda L. Hicks Long of Gainesboro, Tennessee; one daughter, Tonya J. Long of San Jose, California; one son, Jack (Sue) Long and grandsons Jackson and John of Lewisburg, Tennessee; one brother, Wayne (Judy) Long of New Middleton, Tennessee; and special friends Ronnie and Gail Long of Gainesboro, Tennessee.
