Funeral services for Mr. Jack Stanton Gaw, Sr., 83, of the Center Grove community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 8 P.M. - 10 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Gaw passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1925, in Long Beach, CA, to the late Cleavis and Pearl Wisdom Gaw. On June 22, 1948, he was married to Nancy Wilson Gaw, who survives. He was a retired minister of Churches of Christ and a retired teacher in the Jackson County school system. He was a member of the Jackson County Retired Teachers Association and the Church of Christ. He was a minister for 66 years, an educator for 27 years, and was married 60 years. He was a 1942 graduate of Jackson County High School and a 1948 graduate of David Lipscomb University. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Charles Roy Gaw and Lloyd Edward Gaw, Sr.; and 2 Infant Sisters: Margaret and Mildred Gaw. Survivors include his Wife: Nancy Wilson Gaw of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Jack (Dorinda) Gaw, Jr. of Cookeville, TN, and Dr. Ted (Janice) Gaw of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandsons: Mark, Jeff, Eric, Brad, Joel, and Rob Gaw; 2 Great-Grandsons: Alex and Jackson Gaw; 4 Brothers: Dr. J.C. (Helen) Gaw of McMinnville, TN, Doyle (Ranelle) Gaw of Brentwood, TN, Dr. David (Patsy) Gaw of Nashville, TN, and Dr. Bill (Linda) Gaw of Nashville, TN; and 2 Sisters: Sara Lynn of Gainesboro, TN, and Betty Wisdom of Barberton, OH. Bro. Randy Bybee, Bro. Jimmy Anderson, and Bro. Dale Crossman will officiate at the services.
