Jack Lyons Meadows

Funeral services for Mr. Jack Lyons Meadows, 82, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 P.M. until 9 P. M., and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born September 6, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Captain Bob Meadows and Edna "Big Moma" Shoulders Meadows. On September 12, 1953, he was married to Anne Maddux Meadows, who survives. He was a retired insurance agent, and the owner of R. L. Meadows Insurance Agency in Gainesboro, TN. He was a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ, and the former President of Jackson County Little League. He was a former Jackson County commissioner and Gainesboro City Alderman. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was involved in secret radar development. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Robert Lee Meadows; and 4 Sisters: Katherine Cassetty, Ruth Childress, Brown Felker, and Claudine Cassetty. Survivors include his Wife: Anne Maddux Meadows of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: John (Stacey) Meadows of Mt. Juliet, TN; 1 Daughter: Laura (Robert) Qualls of Nashville, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Katherine Elizabeth Qualls of Knoxville, TN; and 1 Brother: Thomas Henry (Maxine) Meadows of Louisville, KY. Bro.
