Funeral services for Mrs. Idell Barlow Scantland, 82, of the Burristown community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born September 28, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Marvin and Lestie Barlow. She was married to the late Elbert C. Scantland, who passed away January 24, 2008. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Poston's Chapel Community Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Terry Scantland; 3 Brothers: Dalton, Claude, and Billy Barlow; and 2 Infant Sisters. Survivors include 2 Sons: Bobby (Brenda) Scantland and Billy (Debbie) Scantland, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Janice (Robert) Chaffin of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Melissa Law, Stephanie Reecer, Chris Flatt, Shaun Scantland, Jeff Scantland, and Marty Scantland; 2 Brothers: Frank (Rose) Barlow of Nevada, and Carson (Vechal) Barlow of Ohio; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Evelyn Barlow of Gainesboro, TN. 10 Great- Grandchildren also survive.
