Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mary Thomas, age 90, a resident of the Seven Knobs community of Jackson County, will be held Sunday, August 10, 2008, at 3 P.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 until 9 P.M. and on Sunday from 10 A.M. to the time of services at 3 P.M. Mrs. Thomas passed away on Friday, August 8, at her daughter's residence. She was born June 30, 1918, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William (Bill) and Nancy Elizabeth Scarlett Haney. She was married to the late Vestal Thomas. She was a store clerk and homemaker and was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. Survivors include 1 Son: James Lewis "Tommy" Thomas of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter and Son-in-Law: Glenda "Bootie" and Kenny Young of Gainesboro; 3 Grandchildren: Donnetta (Howard) Smith, Karen (Everette) Vanhooser, and Jamie Young; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Breanna, Kalli, and Eli Smith.
