Houston "Hugh" Young,

Funeral services for Mr. Houston Clay "Hugh" Young, Sr., 72, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery on Sugartown Lane in Gainesboro, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 9 P. M., and on Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born May 29, 1939, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Clay Young and Bessie Stafford Young Jackson. On September 12, 1959, he was married to Mary Johnson Young, who survives. He was a salesman, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Houston Clay Young, Jr.; and 1 Brother: Richard Young. Survivors include his Wife: Mary Johnson Young of Cookeville, TN; 3 Sons: Greg (Shonda) Young of Gallatin, TN, Alan (Sherrie) Young of Cookeville, TN, and Ron Young of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Skyler, Keagan, Alan, Jr., Justin, Ron, Jr., Nicholas, and Ashley Young; 3 Brothers: Billy Ray Young, Ralph Young, and Kenny Young, all of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Sisters: Dorothy Allen of Cookeville, TN, and Wanda Dayton of Texas.
