Horace Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Horace Jones, 92, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville, TN. He was born April 17, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late James Franklin Jones and Rosie Carter Jones. He was married to the late Christine Jones. He worked in construction, and was a member of the Morrison Creek Church of Christ. He was a Tannehill Lodge Mason, and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 11 Sisters; 5 Brothers; and 6 Half Siblings. Survivors include 1 Son: David (Pamela) Jones of Harrison, TN; 1 Daughter: Peggy (Brian) Denton of Carthage, TN; and 2 Grandchildren: Ethan and Emma Denton, both of Carthage, TN. Several nieces, nephews, and other friends also survive. Bro. Edward L. Anderson and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
