Funeral services for Mr. Homer T. Brown, 79, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 - 8 P.M. and on Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born September 5, 1939, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Logan Brown and Sarah Jane Brown. He was married to Mildred L. Brown, who survives. He was a pipefitter and welder, and a member of the Sycamore Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Eldon W. Brown; and 6 Sisters: Carol Atwood, Jewell Brown, Molly Lineberry, Frances Pharris, Kerry Fields, and Marcia Barnett. Survivors include his Wife: Mildred L. Brown of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Sammy L. (Shonda) Brown of Easley, SC; 1 Daughter: Tammy (Jim) Cobb of Cookeville, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Beth (Shawn) Meadows, Ben Hargis, and Jennilee Cobb; 1 Sister: Louise Mundy of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Special Sisters-in-law: Vanita Carver of Gainesboro, TN, and Charlene McClain of Cookeville, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
