Herman R. Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Herman R. Jones, 84, of Monterey, TN, and formerly of Jackson County, will be held at 1 P. M. on Monday, May 25, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Jones passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 28, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late John Simpson and Alicia Ann Spurlock Jones. He was a farmer and a member of the Sand Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: John Mack William Jones and 3 infant brothers and 5 Sisters: Effie Mahaney, Louisa Jones, Minnie Jane Jones, Nannie Belle Jones, and Jeannie Maddox. Survivors include his 2 Sons: Donnie Reece Jones and Michael Thomas Jones, both of Baxter, TN; 1 Daughter: Anna J. Wilson of Lavergne, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Julie Thomas, Jennifer Wilson, and Tamer Jason Jones; 6 Great- Grandchildren: Tyler, Marley Jean, Linkin, Kenton, Reese, and Skyler. Bro. Walt Phillips, Bro.
