Herman D. Flatt

Herman D. Flatt was born June 22, 1927 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro at the age of 97.

Mr. Flatt was the son of Boyd Lee Flatt and Eula Louise Flatt.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War.  He was a food service worker at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Ann Flatt, brothers, Clarance Flatt, Billy Flatt, Erman C. Flatt and an infant brother; sister, Thelma Petty and grandson, Christopher James Birdwell.

Survivors include his sons, Jackie Lee Flatt of Hickman, TN and Jimmy H. Flatt of Lebanon, TN; daughters, Cathy Birdwell and Thelma Sue Dubree both of Cookeville; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 30, 2024, 1 pm to 8 pm and Tuesday, 9 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Anderson officiating.    Burial will follow in Issac Flatt Cemetery.
