Memorial services for Mr. Herbert "Shoat" Johnson, 89, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, from 2 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 21, 1928, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Amon P. Johnson and Mary Daniel Mayberry Johnson. He was married to the late Louise Steward Johnson, who passed away November 30, 2011. He was a factory worker at ACME Boot Co. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son-in-Law: Bryan Ware; 3 Brothers: James Joe Johnson, Aaron P. Johnson, and Willie Johnson; and 1 Sister: Lillian Young. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Linda (Tommy) Ward, Teresia Ware, and Susie (Donnie) Spivey, all of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Crystal (Shane) Keith, Amanda Stafford, Ronnie (Ashley) Spivey, and Brittany Spivey, all of Gainesboro, TN, and Heather (Matthew) Thomas of Barnesville, GA; 13 Great Grandchildren: Devin (Shelby) Keith, Seth Keith, Isaiah Stafford, Hannah Stafford, Wyatt Minard, Lydia Minard, Benjamin Minard, Bradon Lambert, Braxton Lambert, Maximus Thomas, Gunner Thomas, Isabelle Thomas, and Madison Spivey; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Beau Keith and Luke Keith.
