Herbert Rhoten

Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Rhoten, 89, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Saturday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born October 14, 1926, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Henry Clay Rhoten and Ova Rhoten. On August 28, 1945, he was married to Lorene Davidson Rhoten, who survives. He worked in building trades. He was a member of the Baptist Temple, and was baptized in 1965. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Hollis Rhoten and Ray Rhoten; and 4 Sisters: Christine Rhoten, Ethel Stewart, Rosa Lee Heady, and Robbie Sue Stewart. Survivors include his Wife: Lorene Davidson Rhoten of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Jimmie (Brenda) Rhoten of Cookeville, TN; 2 Daughters: June Rhoten (Mike) Hicks of Dover, FL, and Janice Rhoten Blackwell of Franklin, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Michael (Amy) Barnes, Sheri Rhoten (Jody) Burton, Lacy Blackwell (William) Crawford, Adam (Lauren) Blackwell, Kim Hicks (Bill) Porter, and Stacey Hicks (David) Chamberlain; 18 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister: Edith Bennett of Gainesboro, TN.
