Henry "Red" Hampton

Funeral services for Mr. Henry M. "Red" Hampton 88, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 - 7 P.M. and on Sunday from noon until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born July 17, 1929, in West Frankfort, Illinois, to the late Fred. E. Hampton and Ruby Jane Hampton. On March 14, 1950 he was married to the late Leatrice Joy Hampton, who passed away on August 10, 2009. He was an electrician. He loved being the candy man. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Church of God of Anderson, Indiana. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Brenda Hampton Golden; 1 Brother: Bill Hampton; and 2 Sisters: Bonnie Hampton and Imogene Hampton. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Debra (William) Nielson of Cary, IL and Wende Spivey of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren and 1 Sister: Rose Newman of West Frankfort, IL.
