Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Grisham Brown, 97, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Masters in Algood, TN. She was born July 21, 1916, in Granville, TN, to the late Oscar Grisham and Jennie B. Sutton Grisham. On June 4, 1933, she was married to the late Charles E. Brown. She was a retired high school teacher at Jackson County High School, and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Dr. James E. Brown, Sr. and Rozell M. "Rosie" Brown; 1 Daughter: Patsy Bentley; 1 Sister: Reba Gertrude Grisham; 2 Brothers: Frank Lee Grisham and Robert William Grisham; 1 Nephew: Daniel Grisham; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Loese Grisham. Survivors include 5 Grandchildren: James E. Brown, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Douglasville, GA, Charles David Brown of Smyrna, GA, Mike Bentley of Gainesboro, TN, Beth Bentley- Shelton and husband, Tim, of Knoxville, TN, and Jennifer Bentley-Brown and husband, Al, of St. Marys, GA; 1 Brother: Earl Grisham of Smyrna, TN; 8 Great Grandchildren: Jeb Brown, Jake Brown, Jenna Brown, Tony Brown, Bentley Cunningham, Albert Brown, Helen A. Brown, and Jackson Brown; 1 Great Great Grandchild: Addie Brown; and Special Nieces and Nephews: Peggy Birdwell, Jo Kathryn Johnson, Billy B. Jenkins, Bill Grisham, L.B. Johnson, and Ben Birdwell.
