Hazel Llean Bowman

Hazel Llean Bowman was born on May 22, 1941, in Gainesboro, TN and she passed away at her residence in Gainesboro, TN on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 84.

Llean was the daughter of Tete Moss and Hattie Moss. She married James Ralph Bowman on April 3, 1974.  She was of the Church of Christ in faith.

Llean dedicated her life to children. She was a foster parent for over 30 years. She served on the board as well. She had a love for children which she demonstrated by the care given to the many children she fostered over the years. She was of Church of Christ in her belief.

She is preceded in death by her: parents, husband: James Ralph Bowman who passed away on August 30, 2007; brothers: Kenneth Moss, Michael Moss, and Arvil Hammock.

Llean is survived by her son: Jimmy Bowman of Gainesboro, TN; daughter: Sandy (Richard) Comparato of Boca Raton, FL; brother: David (Shelia) Moss of Whitleyville, TN; sisters: Zelma Locke of Chicago, IL, Wilma Hall of Gainesboro, TN, Jean (Richard) Rinks of Cookeville, TN, Billie Hoge of Baxter, TN, Irene York of Cookeville, TN; grandson: Blake Bowman of Nashville, TN.

The family is honoring Llean’s wish of cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be given to Happy Haven Home and Youth Villages in honor of Llean by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
