Haskel Johnson

Funeral services for Mr. Haskel B. Johnson, 93, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Johnson passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born November 10, 1915, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Eston and Ona Allen Johnson. On December 23, 1939, he was married to Velcie Johnson, who survives. He was a retired factory worker at A&W Furniture Company. He was a member of the Burristown Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Evelyn Johnson; 2 Brothers: Herman Johnson and William Johnson; and 2 Sisters: Grace Johnson and Mildred Corpening. Survivors include his Wife: Velcie Johnson of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: JoAnn (Jerry) Young of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Jerri Ann (Jeff) Anderson and Jamie (Heather) Young, all of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Alainey Watson, Macy Watson, and Nolan Young; 1 Brother: Earnest Johnson of Cookeville, TN; and 1 Sister: Ruby Coffman of Cookeville, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Larry Rhoten and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
