Harvey Verble Ragland

Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Verble Ragland, 90, of Chestnut Mound, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in the Granville Community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 - 8 P.M., and on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Ragland passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born December 1, 1916, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Sidney Ragland and Ann Kirby Ragland. On September 21, 1940, he was married to the late Evelyn Lee Neal Ragland, who passed away January 25, 2003. Mr. Ragland was a farmer and a member of the Curry's Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Harvey Michael Ragland; 6 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Survivors include 1 Son: Steve (Joyce) Ragland of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Jeanetta (Paul) Schultz of Chestnut Mound, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Lauri Widmar, Jill Gruner, Rachel Schultz, Katherine Haggestad, William Ragland, and Megan Ragland; 1 Brother: Thurman Ragland of Sterling Heights, MI; and 4 Sisters: Doris Apple of Gainesboro, TN, Nell Barton of Russellville, KY, Elise Huff of Sparta, TN, and Bobbye Williams of Nashville, TN. 7 Great - Grandchildren also survive.
