Funeral services for Mr. Harlen Haney, 85, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born April 4, 1929, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Harrison Haney and Ida Bell Haney. On October 30, 1949, he was married to Jean Haney, who survives. He was an engineering technician for TDOT for 34 years. He was a faithful member of the Double Springs Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Stephanie Haney; 2 Sisters: Vallie Whitaker and Maxie Stafford; and 1 Brother: Charlie Haney. Survivors include his Wife: Jean Haney of Cookeville, TN; 1 Son: Dennis (Jeanette) Haney of Silver Point, TN; 1 Granddaughter: Amy (Randy) Randolph of Baxter, TN; 3 Special Great Grandchildren: Eli, Maddie, and Colt Randolph; and 1 Sister: Teenie "Tootsie" Anderson of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Double Springs Church of Christ building fund, the Parkinson's Association, or the American Heart Association by contacting the funeral home.
