Grace Sloan

Grace Caruthers Sloan was born August 14, 1932 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Bethesda Healthcare in Cookeville at the age of 90.

She was the daughter of the late Luther and Anna Mai Richardson Caruthers.  She was a shirt factory worker for 43 years and a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gray Sloan who died April 5, 1991, son, Lane Sloan; brothers, Draper Caruthers, James Caruthers and Jackie Caruthers; sisters, Willodene Hammock and Stella Flatt.

Survivors include her son, Shane (Lisa) Sloan of Baxter; daughter, Denise Quarles Hall of Cookeville; grandchildren, Jami Sibley, Kayla Breeding, Candi Sloan and Mason Haney and 3 great-grandchildren.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11, 2023,  4-8 pm and again on Monday 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Monday, June 1, 2023 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Lakeland Barham officiating.   Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
