Glendes Marie Scott

Memorial services for Mrs. Glendes Marie Scott, 68, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at New Beginning Assembly of God in Cookeville, TN. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 P.M. until time of services. Mrs. Scott passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at her residence. She was born December 14, 1940, in Winchester, KY, to the late Arnold and Mildred Walters. On September 5, 1959, she was married to the late Melvin L. Scott, who passed away December 16, 2001. She was a housewife and homemaker, and a member of New Beginning Assembly of God in Cookeville, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: J.D. Walters and Billy Wayne Walters; and 2 Sisters: Wanda Dwyer and Novella Maberry. Survivors include 2 Sons: Wendell Scott of San Jose, CA, and Melvin Jr. "Scotty" Scott of Baxter, TN; 2 Daughters: Julia Scott of Baxter, TN, and Michelle Gibson of Kettering, OH; 5 Grandchildren: Jason Scott, Christina Gibson, Rachel Gibson, Jeffrey Scott, and Lauren Gibson; and 3 Great Grandchildren: Madison Hannah, Samuel Hannah, and Jaiden Scott. Pastor Myron Greer will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scott family by contacting the funeral home.
