Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys L. Burgess, 94, of the Nameless community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Curry's Chapel Cemetery in the Nameless community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at NHC Healthcare Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 9, 1918, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Oakley F. Davidson and Anna Anderson Davidson. She was married to the late Bernice E. Burgess, who passed away September 28, 1986. She was a housewife, and a member of the Philadelphia Church of Christ in Jackson County, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Barney Burgess and Blair D. Burgess; 3 Brothers: Leamon Davidson, Dalton Davidson, and Hulon B. Davidson; 4 Sisters: Doris Flatt, Sophia Jackson, Irene Stockwell, and Jean Chaplan; and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Carol Burgess. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Betty (William) Mayberry and Kathy (W.G.) Burroughs, all of the Nameless community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Daughter-in-Law: Helen Burgess of Cookeville, TN; 11 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Bro.
