Gillie Lundy Gentry

Funeral services for Mrs. Gillie Lundy Gentry, 95, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, February 21, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Henderson B. Gentry, Sr. Cemetery in the Morrison Creek community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Southern Oaks Assisted Living in Chattanooga, TN. She was born November 1, 1918, in Glasgow, Montana, to the late DeForest Dodge Lundy and Lura Ann Moss Lundy. On April 10, 1941, she was married to the late Clifford Matthew Gentry, who passed away January 14, 1998. She was a secretary and receptionist for the State of Tennessee Welfare Department. She was a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sisters: Laura Davis and Cleo Nunnally. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Harriette and William Sheppard of Franklin, MI, Glenda and Terry Parks of Chattanooga, TN, and Anita Gentry and David Worrell of Comfort, TX; and 4 Grandchildren: Matthew (Sonia) Sheppard, and great grandson, Davis; Michael Sheppard; Tara Leigh Parks; and Thomas Lundy (Crystal) Parks. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Edward Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association by contacting the funeral home.
