Funeral services for Mr. Gerald "Cotton" Mathews, 64, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014, in Clay County, TN. He was born June 7, 1950, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Tom Gilbert Mathews and Dimple Stafford Smith. On October 17, 1968, he was married to Wanda Kilmon Mathews, who survives. He was a truck driver, and a member of Dudneys Hill Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, camping, boating, time with his grandchildren, and UT Football. He was preceded in death by his Parents: Tom Mathews and Dimple & Ernie Smith; and 1 Step-Sister: Pat Smith. Survivors include his Wife: Wanda Kilmon Mathews of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Tommy (Mike Cianciolo) Mathews of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 1 Daughter: Judy (Reese) Mathews Eagle of Bloomington Springs, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Brooklyn (Dustin) Jenkins, Brittney Eagle, and Austin Eagle; 2 Great- Grandchildren: Addison Jenkins and Aiden Jenkins; 1 Brother: Larry Mathews of Auburntown, TN; 2 Step-Brothers: Marty Smith of Murfreesboro, TN, and Ronnie Smith of Fountain Run, KY; and 1 Step-Sister: Jowania Smith of Willette, TN.
