George Raymond Pharris

Funeral services for Mr. George Raymond Pharris, 84, of Granville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery in Bloomington Springs, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1929, in Jackson County, TN, to the late George "Wash" Pharris and Prudie Lambert Pharris. On February 18, 1950, he was married to the late Pauline Medlin Pharris, who passed away February 5, 1998. He was a farmer, and a member of the Philadelphia Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Donnie Ray Pharris; 1 Brother: Kenneth Pharris; and 1 Sister: Estelle Ramey. Survivors include 1 Son: Dale Pharris of the Nameless community of Jackson County, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Travis Pharris, Troy Pharris, Tim Pharris, Tosha Pharris, and Constance Key; 4 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother: Donald Pharris of Granville, TN; and 2 Sisters: Adelle Pharris of Granville, TN, and Lydia Sue Stephens of MI.
