Gary Wayne Thompson

Funeral services for Gary Wayne Thompson, 21, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 29, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mansell Cemetery in the Freewill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 noon - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Gary passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born June 21, 1984, to Debbie Thompson Chaffin and the late Gary Thompson. Gary was a residential construction worker. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ and served in the Tennessee National Guard. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother: Rettie Ballard; paternal grandparents: Woodrow and Dena Thompson; 1 Uncle: Paul Thompson; and 1 Cousin: Jeff Thompson. Survivors include his mother: Debbie Thompson Chaffin of Gainesboro, TN; his maternal grandfather: B. Ballard of the Shiloh community of Jackson County, TN; 3 Uncles, 6 Aunts, other relatives, and a host of friends. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
