Gary Cross

Gary Cross was born January 16, 1946, in Clay County, TN and he passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his residence in Cookeville, TN at the age of 77.

He was the son of the late Estes Cross and Lucy B. Birdwell Cross. On February 5, 1972, he was married to Ruthie Huffines Cross, who survives. He was an electrician, and a member of the Bagdad Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Brother: Alvin Cross; Sisters: Irene Long, Eva Long, and Neva Johnson; and Father and Mother-in-law: Bradley and Pauline Huffines.

Survivors include his Wife: Ruthie Huffines Cross of Cookeville, TN; Sons: James Gerald Cross of Cookeville, TN, and Kenny Cross of Murfreesboro, TN; Daughter: Lorrie (Jayson) Lee of Cookeville, TN; Sisters: Virginia Purcell of Indianapolis, IN, Ruth Denton of Celina, TN, and Carolyn (Sonny) Collins of Celina, TN; and Grandchildren: Matthew Cross and Cody Lee.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 12:30 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 A.M. until time of services.
