Frank Clark Mercer

Funeral services for Mr. Frank Mercer 85, of Whitleyville, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:30 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence in Whitleyville. He was born October 19, 1927, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Johnny Burris Mercer and Ada V. Painter Mercer. On December 10, 1949, he was married to Anna Lois Gore Mercer, who survives. He was a farmer and served in the U.S. Army at the rank of Sergeant during WWII. He was also a member of the Church of Christ at Willow Grove and Whitleyville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Grandchild: Holly Mercer. Survivors include His Wife: Lois "Flossie" Mercer of Whitleyville, TN; 1 Son: Dale Mercer and wife, Betty of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Brenda and husband, Jeff Raines of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Rachel and husband, Teddy Ragland, Jonathan Mercer and wife, Jennifer, Derek Raines, and Jessica Raines; and 4 Great- Grandchildren: Peyton Ragland, Hannah Ragland, Mason Rector, and Morgan Rector.
