Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Strong 65, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 - 9 P.M. and on Sunday from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at her residence in Gainesboro. She was born May 7, 1948 in Clay County, TN to the late Will Herman Brown and Carrie Edna Brown. On November 19, 1966 she was married to Wayne Strong, who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Great-grandchild: Cambree Denson and 1 Brother: Jerry Brown. Survivors include Her husband: Wayne Strong of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Jackie (Elaina) McQuiston of Baxter, TN; 2 Daughters: Tammy (Joey) Denson and Pam (Robby) Scantland, both of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Josh and Ashley Denson, Madlyn Scantland, Brock and C.J. McQuiston; 2 Brothers: Walter (Pat) Brown of Livingston, TN and Terry Brown of Nashville, TN and 1 Sister: Barbara (Terry) Lawson of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. David Sisco will officiate at the services.
