Age 93
Evelyn Poston was born June 11, 1930, in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Overton County Health and Rehab in Livingston, TN at the age of 93.
She was the daughter of the late James Grady Smith and Velah B. Gentry Smith. She was a factory worker at Nielsen, a resident of the New Hope community, and a member of the New Hope Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband: Elmer C. Poston; Brothers: Doyle, Clifton, and Gene Smith; and Sisters: Mary Odessa Boles, Betty Roberts, and Elsie Jenkins.
Survivors include her Daughter: Debbie (James Robert) Childress of Hilham, TN; Grandchildren: Courtney (Jonathan) Cummings, and Anna Grace (Brandon) Geesling; and Great Grandchildren: Isabella Ruth Geesling, Hailey Grace Geesling, Harper Lynn Cummings, and Samuel Drew Cummings.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Phillip Morgan and Bro. Mike Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services.
