Eva Jones Mahaney

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Jones Mahaney, 89, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 27, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Mahaney Cemetery on Hopkins Hollow Road in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN. She was born February 10, 1922, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Sid Tom Jones and Nannie Haile Jones. On October 25, 1947, she was married to the late John D. Mahaney. She was a homemaker, and a member of the New Salem Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Shirley Judkins; 1 Son: J.D. Mahaney; 1 Brother: Lewis Jones; and 3 Sisters: Fannie Mai Allen, Nettie Lee Huff, and Effie Belle Brown. Survivors include 2 Grandchildren: Michelle (Sam) Mainord of Gainesboro, TN, and Adam Judkins of Alexandria, TN; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Shelby Mainord, Reese George, Grant Mainord, Elizabeth George, and Emily Judkins; 1 Son-in-law: Robert Judkins of Lebanon, TN; 1 Daughter-in-law: Carolyn Short of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Retta Elrod of Granville, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Sam Mainord will officiate at the services.
