Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Lee Flatt, 78, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Flatt - Woolbright Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born October 5, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Harvey Flatt and Lura Stout Flatt. On December 23, 1959, he was married to the late Emma Jean Flatt, who passed away February 5, 2012. He was a mechanic, and was affiliated with the New Salem Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Garner C. Flatt, James Flatt, Bernice Flatt, and Winfred Flatt; and 2 Sisters: Edna Brown and Mayzell Mayberry. Survivors include 1 Son: Ronnie Flatt of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Tina (Tom) Wyatt of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Dustin Flatt, Emily Buckner, Dana Buckner, and Kimberly Flatt; 1 Sister: Bunie (Ray) Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; and 2 Sisters-in-Law: Helen Flatt of Gainesboro, TN, and Aline Dixon of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Sam Mainord will officiate at the services.
