Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Lee Hix, 86, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Cumberland River Hospital in Celina, TN. He was born December 13, 1931, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Cluer Hix and Pearlie Buck Hix. On December 20, 1957, he was married to Estelene Hix, who survives. He was a carpenter, and a member of the Hurricane Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Vadis Ray Hix; and 4 Sisters: Ima Jean Hix Arms, Wilma Francis Hix, Norma Aquilla Hix, and Ina Mai Hix. Survivors include his Wife: Estelene Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Gerald (Dessa) Hix of Cookeville, TN; 2 Daughters: Debbie Dixon and Shelia Pharris, both of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Brandy (Shane) Nixon, Allison Pharris, Alana Dixon, Corey Pharris, Anita Dixon, Elijah Hix, and Camille Hix; and 2 Great Grandchildren: Abby Nixon and Carter Pharris. Bro. James Bybee will officiate at the services.
