Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Dale Dawes, 73, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Peek Cemetery in the Harmony community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1944, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Claude Dawes and Arie B. Dawes. On August 4, 1962, he was married to Faye G. Dawes, who survives. He was the co-owner of Faye's Cafe, and a member of the Church of Christ. He loved working on his 77 Ford, and loved talking and visiting with all who came in the restaurant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 Brothers: Austin, Vesper, Claudine, Lewis, and Bobby Dawes; 1 Sister: Martha L. Scantland; 1 Grandson: Jimmy Moss; and 1 Great Granddaughter: Sarah Grace. Survivors include his Wife: Faye G. Dawes of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Troy (Debbie) Dawes of Bethpage, TN; 2 Daughters: Jennifer (Mark) Pryor of Gainesboro, TN, and Tresa (Stacy) Davis of Hermitage Springs, TN; 7 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; and Special Pet: Lucy.
