Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Ruth Amburn, 92, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery in Putnam County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at NHC of Cookeville. She was born October 1, 1925, in Blount County, TN, to the late Richard Ezekial Amburn and Cora Crisp Amburn. She was a caregiver, and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Marie Johnson; 1 Brother: Fred Amburn; 1 Niece: Jeanetta Hickey; and 2 Sisters: Verdale Kirkland and Dallie McKinn. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Margaret Fletcher and Esther Johnson, both of Cookeville, TN; 1 Brother: Leonard Amburn of East Tennessee; 3 Sisters: Thressie Kirkland, Grace Stead, and Odell Dailey, all of East Tennessee; 8 Grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
