Funeral services for Mr. Edward Daniel Netherton, 83, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, October 10, 2008, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., Thursday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Netherton passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born July 9, 1925, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Clifton and Clara C. Way Netherton. On May 2, 1945, he was married to Willodean Mosley Netherton, who survives. He was a retired barber and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and loved to rabbit hunt with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Infant Brother. Survivors include His wife: Willodean Mosley Netherton of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Jimmy (Robbie) Netherton of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Rose (Jeff) Collins of Cookeville, TN, and Alesia (Bob) Spivey of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Andrew (Estelene) Netherton of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Jeff (Jerri) Anderson, Randy (Shawn) Spivey, Tracy Falcone, Dana (Seth) Clinard, Michael (Vanessa) Netherton, Karla (Brad) Hensley, and Jeff Collins II; 5 Great- Grandchildren: Neylan Spivey, Grace Emily Clinard, Drew Clinard, Aden Netherton, and Grant Hensley; 1 Niece; and 1 Nephew also survive. Bro. Jeff Collins, Bro. Jerry Cherry, and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pharris Cemetery or the Veteran's Blind Services by contacting the funeral home.
