Edward "Al" Kernea

Memorial services for Mr. Edward Alton "Al" Kernea, 66, of South Port, Florida, will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Interment of cremains with full military honors will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at his residence. He was born October 17, 1943, in Chattanooga, TN, to the late Doyle Kernea and Erdice Kernea. He was a self- employed screen printer, and of the Methodist faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Nathan Alton Kernea, whose mother is Cindy Kernea. Survivors include 1 Son: Chris (Fran) Kernea of South Port, FL, and his mother, Ann Kernea; 2 Grandchildren: Jessica and Landon Kernea; 2 Brothers: Ray (Frances) Kernea of Birmingham, AL, and Bob (Myra) Kernea of Cookeville, TN; 1 Sister: Elaine (Bill) Keary of Ellicot City, Maryland; and his Special Friend: Jami Grisby. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
