Edna Scantland

Edna Mae Scantland was born May 28, 1945 in Dayton, OH and she passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at her residence in Gainesboro at the age of 78. 

She was the daughter of Malcolm Herschel Spivey and Nannie B. Jones Spivey.  She was a registered respiratory therapist and a member of the Burristown Church of Christ.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe Scantland who passed away on 12-25-2020, brothers, James Henry Spivey, George Ray Spivey, Larry Dale Spivey and Billy K. Spivey; sisters, Martha Spivey and Alice Beechboard Hawkins.

Survivors include her son, Fred David Scantland of Gainesboro; daughter, Teresa Scantland (Ronnie Leonard) Naff of Whitleyville; grandchildren, Amanda (Lance) Simmons of Tompkinsville, KY and Josh Scantland; great grandchildren, Riley, Colton and Avery;  brothers, Jerry (Sue) Spivey of Rock Island, TN and Robert Spivey of Gainesboro; sisters, Thelma Siboloski of MI, Mildred Bozek of MI and Dorothy Kemp of Maryville, TN; sister in laws, Betty Hix and Martha Flynn. 14 nieces and nephews along with other relatives and many friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30, 2024, 5-8 pm and Friday, May 31, 2024, 10 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fox and Bro. Kenneth Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.
