Edith Goolsby

Edith Goolsby was born December 18, 1926, in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Mabry Health Care and Rehab Center in Gainesboro, TN, at the age of 96.

She was the daughter of the late Willie S. Light and Flora Jane Light. She was married to the late Fred Goolsby. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Freewill Holiness Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her Sons: Kennith Owen Goolsby, James Ronnie Goolsby, and Donnie Leon Goolsby.

Survivors include her Daughters: Connie (Ronald) Scott of Celina TN, Sue (Michael) Stacy of Gainesboro TN, Kathy (Danny) Hembree of Cookeville, TN; Daughter-in-Law: Teresa Goolsby; 9 Grandchildren; and multiple Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Danny Hembree officiating. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services.
