Edith Allen

Edith Allen passed away at the age of 71, on Sunday March 19th, 2023 at the Cookeville Hospital surrounded by her family. 

She was born in Livingston, Overton County, TN to the late John Ed and Alice (Presley) Wilson. She was a member of the Flynn’s Creek Church of Christ in Jackson County, TN.  She was currently living at Mabry Assisted Living in Gainesboro, TN. For Edith, her family and her God were always first in her life. She was a loving, caring Christian woman and mother, who loved to send cards, call and talk, and always thought of others. Everyone who knew her loved her and her personality that was infectious.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband James Harold Allen, her parents John Ed and Alice (Presley) Wilson, and sister Rosie A. Murray.

Edith is survived by her daughter Melissa Copeland and husband Lee, son Johnny Allen and wife Gidget, and son Roger Allen and wife Grace.

Siblings: Willie Wilson, James Wilson, Fred Wilson, and Donald Wilson.

Grandchildren: Elizabeth Copeland, Jesse Copeland and wife Kaitlin, Jonna Allen, Carl Summersill and wife Nicole.

Great grandchild: Alexa Rose Summersill

Funeral Services:

Services will be held at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, 2131 S. Grundy Quarles Hwy, Gainesboro, TN on Tuesday March 21st. Visitation will be from 8-11am with memorial starting at 11am.
