Eddie Strong

Mr. Eddie Strong was born October 12, 1944 in Jackson County, Tn and he passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his residence at the age of 75. Mr. Strong was the son of Comer and Reba Mayberry Strong, a retired grocery store owner of Strong's Grocery in the Burristown Community, a farmer and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ. Mr. Eddie was a veteran of the US Army. He married Betty Jean Phann Strong on May 23, 1964 for a total of 56 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Shirley, David and Bruce Strong. Survivors include his wife, Betty Strong of Gainesboro; son, Chip (Alicia) Strong of Gainesboro; daughter, Lisa Scantland of Gainesboro; brother, Billy Strong of Cookeville; sister, Rose Mary Sharp of Nashville; four grandchildren, Jesse (Miranda) Strong, David (Kimberlea) Strong, Jacob Scantland and Jaryn Scantland. Visitation with the family will be 3 - 8 pm on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, 11am to 1 pm. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, august 4, 2020 at 1 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Lynn Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Anderson, Bro. Duane Gossett and Bro. Matthew Scoggins will officiate at the service. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Lynn Cemetery, Peek Cemetery or to Happy Haven Home by contacting the funeral home.
