Funeral services for Mr. Ed Scantland, 78, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Peek Cemetery in the Harmony community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 13, 1934, in Jackson County, TN, to the late George and Maggie Scantland. On July 22, 1957, he was married to the late Martha L. Scantland, who passed away February 19, 2012. He was a factory worker, and a member of the Burristown Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Jimmy, Johnny, and Charles Scantland; and 2 Sisters: Frances Trisdale and Mattie Scantland. Survivors include 2 Brothers: Billy Scantland of Gainesboro, TN, and Bobby (June) Scantland of Warren, Michigan; and 1 Sister: Mae Phillips of Gainesboro, TN.
