Funeral services for Mr. Earl Douglas Brown, 78, of the Nameless community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery in the Philadelphia community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 12 Noon until time of services. Mr. Brown passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at his residence. He was born August 24, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late James Fowler and Claudia Elena Ragland Brown. On April 8, 1950, he was married to the late Mary Alice Medlin Brown, who passed away December 31, 1988. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include 3 Sons: Wayne D. Brown of Baxter, TN, Steve (Tiffany) Brown of Celina, TN, and Mark (Tammy) Brown of the Nameless Community of Jackson County, TN; 2 Daughters: Daffolene (Wayne) Green of the Willette Community of Macon County, TN, and Donna (Larry) Palmer of Canton, GA; A Very Special Friend: Maggie Dyer of Cookeville, TN; 1 Brother: Philip (Linda) Brown of Sparta, TN; 1 Sister: Jewel (Loyd) Clark of Granville, TN; 9 Grandchildren: Alan Brown, Christopher Brown, Gina Bohanan, Brittany Brown, Corinne Hamby, Corbin Hamby, Scott Brown, Allie Brown, and Taylor Brown; and 5 Great Grandchildren: Kaya Brown, Jase Bohanan, Justin Bohanan, Jordan Bohanan, and Jessica Bohanan. Bro. Ronald Strong will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sam Flatt Cemetery fund by contacting the funeral home.
