Funeral services for Mr. Dwight Spivey, 75, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery in the Big Bottom community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born December 5, 1942, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Otha E. Spivey and Viola E. Hall Spivey. He worked as a television technician. He was a member of the Church of Christ, and spent his later years reading the Bible daily. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Sue Messick; and 1 Brother: Otha E. Spivey, Jr. Survivors include 1 Son: Jeff Spivey and wife, Brenda, of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Jennifer Dietsch and husband, Jason, of Old Hickory, TN, and Kim Stafford and husband, Garry, of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Andrea Stafford, Alyssa Ragland and husband, Lincoln, Kaylia Hopkins and husband, Chanse, and Kolton Dietsch; 1 Great - Grandchild: Kambree Hopkins; 1 Sister: Faye Ragland of Gainesboro, TN; and the Mother of his children: Patricia Spivey of Madison, TN. Bro. Dan Huffines will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Big Bottom Cemetery Fund by contacting the funeral home.
