Funeral services for Dwane Head, 77, of the Big Bottom community of Jackson County, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., Wednesday from 10 A.M. - 8 P.M., and Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born February 5, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Quarles Head and Mae Spivey Head. On June 27, 1957, he was married to Faye Phann Head, who survives. He worked as a school bus driver for the Jackson County School System, and retired after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Ricky Dwane Head; 2 Sisters: Louise Spivey and Ruby L. Trisdale; 1 Brother: Curtis J. Head; and 1 Daughter in Law: Patty Head. Survivors include his Wife: Faye Phann Head of the Big Bottom community of Jackson County, TN; 3 Sons: Jerry Head, Roy (Pam) Head, and Richard (Judy) Head, all of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Natural Grandchildren: Dustin (Victoria) Head, Ricky (Rebecka) Head, James Head, Cynthia (Casey Williams) Head, Keisha (Timmy) McCoin, and Kyleigh Head; 8 Natural Great Grandchildren: David Reed Head, Mason McCoin, Ella McCoin, Garett McCoin, Gunner McCoin, Braxston Bean, Kyler Head, and Jaxson Head; 6 Step Grandchildren: Scott Stepp, Robby Stepp, Josh Stafford, Sarah Stafford, Lindsay Young, and Jacob Davis; 7 Step Great Grandchildren: Emma Stepp, Avery Stepp, Tylus Stepp, Jada Stafford, Aiden Stafford, Daltyn Hines, and Mallorie Hines; 3 Brothers: Joe (Boots) Head, Edis Head, and Willard Head, all of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister: Judy (Joe) McDowell of Bloomington Springs, TN. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Matthew Scoggins will officiate at the services.
