Douglas C. Vandiver

Douglas C. Vandiver was born May 13, 1943, in Helen, GA, and he passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his residence in the Union Hill community of Jackson County, TN, at the age of 80.

He was the son of the late Clifford Miles Vandiver and Gladys Tatum Vandiver. On September 14, 1981, he was married to Judy West Vandiver, who survives. He retired from GM after 30 years in Doraville, GA. He then opened Vandiver’s Body Shop in Jackson County in 1992, retiring in 2021. He was also a member of the Union Hill Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Sisters: Mariam Head, Dot Wood, and Gwen Allen.

Survivors include his Wife: Judy West Vandiver of Bloomington Springs, TN; Sons: Stacy Vandiver, Troy (Trina) Vandiver, and Dwayne (Christy) Vandiver, all of Cleveland, GA; Daughters: Charlotte Austin of Cookeville, TN, Donna Hayes of Cookeville, TN, and Kimberly (Chris) Bowman of Bloomington Springs, TN; Brothers: Harold (Debra) Vandiver of Elberton, GA, Herbert (Carol) Vandiver of Helen, GA, and Eric (Jane) Vandiver of Helen, GA; Grandchildren: April Casper, Clayton Duncan, Josh Hayes, Mikayla Cash, Makenzie Bowman, J T Bowman, Latisha Austin, Nathan Vandiver; and Great Grandchildren: Katelyn Hayes, Aubree Austin, Austin Cash, Will Hayes, Connor Austin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Stan Gantt and Bro. Kelly Stockton officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Hill - Flatt Cemetery in Bloomington Springs, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
