Memorial services with full military honors for Mr. Douglas Bruce Strong, 62, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. He had chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston, TN. He was born June 10, 1951, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Comer Strong and Reba V. Maybry Strong. He was married to Virginia Brown Strong, who survives. He was a machinist at Eaton, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: David Strong and Shirley Strong. Survivors include his Wife: Virginia Brown Strong of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Brothers: Bill (Hattie) Strong of Cookeville, TN, and Eddie (Betty) Strong of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Rosemary (Gene) Sharp of Nashville, TN; and a Very Special Nephew: Chip Strong.
